The Backstory
Patty Inwood lost her son, Luke, to suicide in 2015. The outpouring of support that came from the community, loved ones, friends - including Luke’s, her current and former students and their families, neighbors, and acquaintances was beyond anything Patty - or her family - could have ever imagined. She credits all of that love and support for helping to heal her heart.
Since 2015, Patty has become a beacon of hope for others struggling with loss. People come to Patty seeking comfort and connection. They need someone who understands their pain. Someone to tell them it’s going to be okay. Someone to hold the broken pieces of their hearts. Someone to help them begin to see how to put those pieces back together. They find strength knowing that if she survived, so can they.
Because of her experience and the need others have to connect with someone who understands their pain, Patty wanted to create a space where people could go to feel supported and connected during times of loss and that's when Hope Lives Here was born.

Who are we?
Hope Lives Here originated from the vision that no one should go through anything alone.
Our mission- To help people struggling with loss to heal their hearts and build hope.
Programs to include (but not limited to):
  1. Peer support – we match you with a volunteer, someone who has walked in your shoes and knows your kind of loss, whatever that may be.
  2. Group support – our groups will be focused on hope and healing and will be focused on a particular type of loss (loss of a child, a parent, job, etc) It will also include meditation groups.
  3. Events - Hope Lives Here will host events that bring similar people together for an engaging activity; this could be gardening, painting class, journaling class, etc.
Upon entering Hope Lives Here, you will be surrounded by people who have walked in your shoes and who will help you put back the pieces.

How you can help:
Please consider making a donation to Hope Lives Here. No donation is too small - or too large! Any amount will help Hope Lives Here with its mission to build hope and heal hearts by connecting those struggling with loss with others.
